How TableWork charges: per-module pricing, six tiers, and a free tier

Austin Johnnic · May 27, 2026 · 5 min read

Editor's note (June 2026): This post was originally published with a "no free tier" position. That has changed. TableWork now includes a permanent Free tier — Atlas Core, one operator seat, no card, no time limit. The original reasoning about avoiding crippled-demo freemium still holds; what changed is that Atlas Core on its own is genuinely useful (scheduling, clients, jobs board), not a stripped-down demo. The analysis below reflects the current model.

---

The free tier, done right

A lot of freemium products hide the good stuff. You get a crippled demo, hit a wall in week one, and either pay or churn. We didn't want to build that.

The Free tier is Atlas Core: your calendar, your client list, your services, and a drag-and-drop jobs board. One operator seat, no time limit. It's a real working tool for a solo operator who only needs scheduling. It's also an honest way to evaluate TableWork before you install any paid module.

What the Free tier doesn't include: paid modules (invoicing, messaging, AI tool calls, route optimization, etc.), extra seats, or the higher storage and AI quota that come with a paid platform tier.

## The 14-day trial

The trial provisions a starter bundle — Atlas Core plus basic invoicing and messaging — with full Pro-tier AI quotas, for 14 days. No card required. After 14 days, your workspace reverts to Atlas Core on the Free tier and all your data is preserved. You add modules when you're ready.

The bet is that 14 days is enough time to form a real opinion on whether the paid modules earn their cost. Most operators decide in the first week.

## Six tiers instead of three

Most SaaS has three plans. We have six (including Free, plus Enterprise). Here's why:

Free is Atlas Core for one operator. Genuinely useful. No card, no time limit.

Solo is the full platform for a one-person business: full AI tool calls, 30-day audit retention, 5 GB storage. Add the modules you need on top.

Pro raises the seat count to five, expands AI quotas, and adds 90-day audit retention. This is the right tier for most growing service businesses.

Business raises the seat limit to 25 and adds bring-your-own AI keys, REST API access, and 365-day retention. For teams with strong opinions about model choice or integration requirements.

Scale is for 26- to 100-person operations: SAML SSO, 99.9% uptime SLA credit, and 4-hour support.

Enterprise is for large operations that need a contract, SLA, and custom data retention.

## Per-module, per-workspace pricing

The platform tier covers seats, storage, AI quota, and support SLA. Module access is separate — each paid module adds its own monthly price per workspace, not per seat. Install a module today, remove it next month, and your bill changes with it. A team of 25 and a team of two pay the same module price; only the platform seat differs.

The tiers are designed so that each upgrade is justified by a real operational need, not by a feature wall we built to force upgrades.
